As part of the government plan in terms of the development of the health sector, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it has completed the construction of Qatar University Health Centre and started the process of handover to the Ministry of Public Health. The new centre had a total cost of over QR 150 million, since it was built on an area of 23,300 m2, comprising a four-level main building with a two-level basement designed as a car parking as well as a ground and upper level dedicated for clinics, laboratories, administrative offices and other annexes.

Ashghal has announced the completion of the Doha Corniche Development project implemented along a distance of 9 km from Dafna area to Ras bu Abboud Bridge. The opening was held in the presence of CMC members Mr. Jassem Abdulla Al-Maliki, and Mrs. Shaikha Al-Jufairi, Member of CMC Member and Eng. Abdulla Ibrahim Al Sada, Director of Technical Affairs Department in Doha Municipality along with a number of Ashghal staff and project engineers. Ashghal started implementing this project in October 2017, within an integrated plan to develop Corniche areas in Doha, Al Khor, Al Shamal City and Al Wakra Beach, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced that the first and second zones of Al Khor Corniche Development Project is opened to public today 15 May 2018 after the completion of the main works. The third zone, which is the last one, will be opened during the first half of Ramadan, The opening took place in the presence of Mr. Nasser Bin Ibrahim Al-Muhannadi, Member of the Municipal Council for Al Khor Constituency. The project includes the maintenance, renovation and construction of the entire corniche that is composed of three zones with an area of about 28,000 square meters. The project started in November 2017. This opening is a part of Ashghal's integrated plan to develop and maintain Corniche areas in Doha, Al Khor and Al Shamal, as well as Al Wakrah Beach.

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced on May 13, 2018, the completion of the main works of Al Shamal Corniche Development Project and opening it to public after being renovated to become a leisure destination suitable for the families and people of Al Shamal Area. The opening took place in the presence of Engineer Hamad bin Jumaa Al-Mannai, Director of Al Shamal Municipality The project that is located in Al Ruwais area, started on March 2018 and the main works were completed in record time.
Ashghal has been keen to complete the development and maintenance of the Corniche areas in Doha, Al-Khor and Al-Shamal as well as Al Wakrah Beach before Ramadan.
The interlock works of the pedestrian walkways has been completed with a length of 2570 meters. In addition, 120 parking spaces have been paved with asphalt, as they are more robust and easier to maintain in the future, covering 7,000 square meters. The irrigation works for the plants and green areas are also done as part of the project.
The project includes providing 2,000 meters for children's play area, which will be completed by mid-June 2018. Also, 26 Pergolas are provided along the beach, and 55 seats that are distributed between the pedestrian walkway and Children’s area. In addition, the project includes providing two buildings for wash closets, which are distributed along the beach. It is worth mentioning that 50% of the wash closets are allocated for people with special needs.
The project includes planting 450 trees and palm trees in an aesthetic gesture to decorate Al Shamal corniche and provide shades for its visitors. In addition to 183 lighting poles distributed along the Corniche to provide night lighting, the installation of lighting poles is expected to be completed during the first half of Ramadan.

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced on May 9, 2018, the
completion of the main works of the first zone of Al Wakrah Beach
Development Project, which is composed of three zones. This is during
the visit of Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Mansoori, Technical Affairs Manager at Al
Wakrah Municipality, to the completed section of the project, which
will be opened to public on 15 May 2018.
The opening of this zone is part of an integrated plan developed by
Ashghal for the development of the Corniche areas in Doha City, Al
Wakrah City, Al Khor and Al Shamal.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Mansoori, Technical Affairs Manager at Al Wakrah
Municipality, expressed his contentment with Ashghal achievement and he
stressed on the importance of Al Wakrah Beach Development Project to
serve Al Wakrah area residents.
Ashghal is developing the beach of Al Wakrah, which is composed of three
zones covering an area of 335,000 square meter, and is designed to
become a leisure destination suitable for families.
Eng. Khalid ALNajjar, Project Engineer at Buildings Project Management
Department, stated that 2100 meter of the interlock for the pedestrian
walkways is completed, also 120 pergola will be implemented to provide
shaded areas for families. Currently, all the pergolas for zone 1 are
installed.
The project also includes three green areas covering 25 thousand square
meters. In addition to the development of 98 solar lighting poles to
preserve the environment and reduce electricity consumption. The
lightening poles will be distributed along the beach to enable the beach
users to use it at night. Also a 2,500 meter long metal fence along the
beach will be built with three entrances.
The remaining works in the project will be completed by July 2018 and
include 12 buildings for public toilets distributed among the three
beach areas, and three equipped buildings to be used as a cafeteria in
the future as well as three guard rooms.
The project also includes 600 parking spaces on an area of 20,000 square
meters where all the parking lots for Zone 1 are completed.
It is worth mentioning that the project was launched in October last
year and Ashghal has been keen to open this part of the project to the
public ahead of schedule.

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ is implementing Al Khor Corniche
Renovation Project to provide the corniche visitors with many additional
benefits. The project includes the maintenance, renovation and
construction of the entire corniche with an area of about 28,000
square meters. The project started in November 2017 and is due to end by
May 2018.
The upper area of the project includes adding new parking spaces and the
renovation of the concrete blocks separating the upper and central
areas. The Contractor of the project replaced all the damaged and worn
out concrete blocks and added new ones with a percentage of about 65%,
while, after being tested to ensure its safety, some of the original
blocks were re-used, then treated and painted.
The project also includes the construction of stormwater drainage and
irrigation networks as well as the rehabilitation of public toilets, in
addition to adding ramps to enable people with special needs to enjoy
using the corniche and the beach.
The central area of the project includes adding walkway made of granite,
which has special characteristics to resist salt and weather conditions
on the beach as well as adding new benches and lit wooden shades. The
project also features the renovation of the entire Kids play area, and
the addition of decorative lighting poles.
As part of the project, ‘Ashghal’ is coordinating with the concerned
departments of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to plant the
areas according to the required specifications.
In addition, the project contractor completely replaced the old concrete
blocks, separating the central and lower areas.

The school is divided into 2 main sections (The management section and the classrooms section) Management section consists of a reception, meeting room, a manager office and a toilet, an assistant manager office, and 2 other management offices, a toilet, a kitchen, a clinic, Q-tel Room, IT server Room, a gathering room, store, computer room, language room, music room, a multi-purpose room with a store.
As for the classrooms section, it consists of 12 classrooms, each connected to a kitchen, toilets and a small garden. In addition to the teachers rooms and their toilets.

Islamic Center Project is located in the west part of Ain Khalid area in the corresponding part of the industrial zone of the street hand No. 10.
The project is on a total area of 118,000 sqm and includes several facilities with a total roofed area of 12,000 sqm, and the details are as follow:
1.The Mosque consists of three halls for prayer with a capacity of 5,500.
2.The Mosque facilities, like toilets, mosque can accommodate more than 200 users at the same time.

4.Six homes for Imams with a total area of 600 m².
5.Kitchen and restaurant with an area of 1200 m².

The hospital is built on the land area of 303,533sqm. The hospital is located south of Al Wakra and serves the area of Mesaieed to Al Wakra, Al-Wekir and south of Doha, facilitating the provision of medical services to the people in these areas and it contributes in reducing the traffic on Hamad General Hospital. The hospital with 321 beds serves all medical specialties, outpatient clinics, and emergency department for adults, pediatrics, maternity and renal dialysis.
