The existing road and footways will be reconstructed and paved with high quality granite stones to create a unique setting that will seamlessly integrate with the Musheireb, Heart of Doha development that it encircles.
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has worked closely with Musheireb Properties and the Private Engineering Office to ensure that the upgrade of Al Rayyan Road and Jassim Bin Mohammed Street fits with the overall vision for the exciting future redevelopment of downtown Doha.
Both motorists and pedestrians will benefit from the project which involves upgrading approximately 1.8 km of Al Rayyan Road and Jassim Bin Mohammed Street, providing enhanced access to the downtown Souq Waqif shopping district.
A new pedestrian underpass constructed under Jassim Bin Mohammed Street, just to the north of the Wadi Musheireb Street junction, commonly referred to as the “Dhow Roundabout”, will link Souq Waqif with Masjid Square, Heart of Doha.
